With pancakes flipping, nearly four dozen students attended Lynden High School’s first Saturday School of the 2022-23 school year. Teacher Jordan VanderVeen piloted a group of tutors nearly able to go one-on-one with student support. Shelli Joss led a small group of community volunteers making pancakes and sausages for the attendees and Woods Coffee donated coffee. “The vibe was very productive and felt like a college library,” says Ian Freeman, LHS principal. The next Saturday School is Nov. 19.
