Dual Credit

College Dual Credit
College Dual Credit is a unique program that allows high school students to get a jump-start on their postsecondary education. High school Dual Credit courses, identified by a (*TP or logo symbol) in the course title, meet the entry-level course requirements of comparable college courses at local Community and Technical Colleges. Students who take College Dual Credit courses earn both high school and college credit provided the student demonstrates proficiency in the identified college course competencies with a “B” or better grade. (An automatic “B” or better does not constitute credit.) At the end of the semester, each student will complete the on-line registration process. Students receive a college transcript indicating the number of college credits earned and grades received for each College Dual Credit course completed. As a high school program, College Dual Credit is a college preparatory program that provides students with the academic knowledge and technical skills required for success in their chosen field.

College in the High School
College in the High School (CIHS) is a program between Lynden High School and community college and universities. The program allows students to earn college credit by completing approved courses at the HS with a strong final grade (often B or better) and paying a credit fee to the college. Courses are taught by our high school teachers who work closely with the college faculty mentors.

Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement courses are college-level courses offered in high school. Students in AP courses may earn college credit or advanced placement upon entrance to college if they perform well on the national AP test which potentially could save thousands of dollars in tuition and fees. There is no cost to take these classes, but there is a cost to take the AP test. If you have questions, please contact:
