Third graders at Fisher Elementary learned all about stamps as part of a unit on maps and geography. Teacher Jamie Matheis first taught about addresses (and the importance of knowing yours), then how intricate the mail system is (no, it isn’t on your phone).
That led to letters getting sent home. Student-teacher Olivia Phillips brought in a bag of stamps collected from across the world, allowing some students to explore stamps from their home countries. It was an exciting unit full of learning.
