Updated Protocol for Lynden Schools Meal Service

With the changing landscape of in-person learning opportunities at Lynden Schools, the district’s Food Service department has updated its protocols for meal service across all schools.

Elementary Schools

• All in-person learning students are offered a free breakfast and free lunch in their classrooms Monday through Thursday. On Thursday, whoever orders a lunch is given a “to go home white bag” that contains a breakfast and a lunch for Friday.

• Remote learning students may pick up a five-day meal kit with five breakfasts and five lunches every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lynden Middle School, 8750 Line Rd.

• Students eating at school should not pick up a five-day meal kit on Fridays to keep the integrity of the program intact.

Middle and High School

• Five-day meal kits are available free to all in-person learning students. Each kit contains five breakfasts and five lunches.

• Hybrid Group A, those students attending in-person learning on Monday and Wednesday, can pick up a kit at the end of the school day on Wednesday.

• Hybrid Group B, those students attending in-person learning on Tuesday and Thursday, can pick up a kit at the end of the school day on Thursday.

• If a student chooses not to pick up a meal kit at school, they can pick one up every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lynden Middle School, 8750 Line Rd. If a student picks up a meal kit at school, they should not pick up another kit on Friday to keep the integrity of the program intact.

• Remote learning students are welcome to pick up a five-day meal kit for free every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lynden Middle School, 8750 Line Rd.

Any child age 18 or younger who does not fit into any of the above categories are welcome to pick up a five-day meal kit every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lynden Middle School, 8750 Line Rd.
